Who we are

Ark Advocacy is an independent workplace policy analysis and employee advocacy service operating in Scotland. We are a sole trader business. References to "we", "us", and "our" mean Ark Advocacy.

What information we collect

When you contact us through our website, we collect your name, email address, the type of employer you work for, where you are in any workplace procedure, and a description of your situation. We collect only what you choose to share with us.

How we use your information

We use the information you provide solely to respond to your enquiry and to provide the services you request. We do not use your information for marketing purposes without your explicit consent. We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share your information with trusted associates or specialist advisers (such as solicitors) where necessary to provide our services. Any such parties are bound by confidentiality obligations and your information is only shared to the extent necessary for your matter.

Legal basis for processing

We process your personal data on the basis of your consent (provided when you submit our contact form) and, where we enter into a service agreement, on the basis of contractual necessity.

How long we keep your information

We retain correspondence and case-related information for a period of six years following the conclusion of any engagement, in line with standard limitation periods for civil claims in Scotland. Enquiries that do not result in an engagement are deleted within 12 months.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to request correction of inaccurate data, to request deletion of your data, to object to processing, and to request restriction of processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the form on this website. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information. Our website is served over HTTPS. Contact form submissions are handled by Netlify and subject to Netlify's privacy policy.
